Italy has seized properties price some 105 million euros ($114.45 million) owned by Russian former Formula One driver Nikita Dmitrievich Mazepin and his oligarch father, two police sources informed Reuters on Monday. The operation focused a villa – referred to as Rocky Ram – positioned within the north of the island of Sardinia. It is a part of broader efforts geared toward penalizing rich Russians linked to President Vladimir Putin after the Feb. 24 invasion of Ukraine by Moscow.
There was no quick remark from Mazepin’s PR supervisor.
Mazepin – who was fired in March by US-owned F1 workforce Haas – has been included in an EU sanctions listing alongside along with his father, Dmitry, who the European Union’s official journal described as a member of president Vladimir Putin’s closest circle.
Over the final weeks, Italian police have sequestered villas and yachts price over 900 million euros from rich Russians who had been positioned on a European Union sanctions lists following the Ukraine battle.
The most precious asset seized up to now is a superyacht owned by billionaire Andrey Igorevich Melnichenko, price round 530 million euros, which was impounded within the northern port of Trieste.
