External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will symbolize India on the digital assembly of the Council of Heads of Government (CHG) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on Tuesday.
The CHG assembly, which is held yearly, focuses on the bloc’s enterprise and financial agenda and approves its annual funds.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated that the assembly shall be attended by SCO member states, observer states, SCO Secretary General and Executive Director of SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS). Turkmenistan and different invited friends are anticipated to affix the deliberations.
“India is actively engaged in various SCO activities/dialogue mechanisms in this area as well as other multilateral cooperation within the SCO framework,” the Ministry of External Affairs stated. The SCO was based in 2001 at a summit in Shanghai by the presidents of Russia, China, the Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. India and Pakistan grew to become its everlasting members in 2017.
