Writer and MP Shashi Tharoor lately shocked his followers on social media along with his new abilities. He shared a video of himself singing one of the crucial widespread Kishore Kumar renditions, “Ek Ajnabee Haseena Se” from the 1974 Rajesh Khanna-starrer Ajnabee. Tharoor sang this track at a cultural program organized by Doordarshan Srinagar. While many lauded Tharoor’s effort, Lyricist Javed Akhtar He took a dig at her for saying some Hindi phrases.

Describing his endeavor as beginner, Tharoor shared the video on Twitter with the caption, “After cultural program by Doordarshan Srinagar for Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology, I was persuaded to sing for the members. Rehearsal and amateur but enjoy! The video was viewed by over four lakh people, and among them was Akhtar who commented on the post saying, “Wow! We have nearly the identical track in Hindi as properly!!!”

Akhtar’s remark made singer Srinivas blissful as he replied with a laughing emoticons and wrote, “You kill it every time Javed sahab.” Even TV producer and anchor Raghu Ram couldn’t cease laughing at Akhtar’s response to Tharoor’s video.

But there have been some who appreciated Tharoor’s confidence. One of the Twitter customers wrote, “But you have to love her confidence, sportsmanship and the joy de vivre she has.. amazing!” Another commented, “He looks so cute.. real effort real game!!”

Akhtar is a famous poet, screenwriter and lyricist who has written songs for a few of the greatest soundtracks of Hindi cinema together with Silsila (1981), 1942: A Love Story, Dil Chahta Hai, Kal Ho Naa Ho, and Gully Boy amongst others.
