The ONV Cultural Academy is “re-examining” its choice to award lyricist Vairamuthu after heavy outrage on social media. “As per the request of the award committee, the ONV Cultural Academy has decided to reconsider the ONV Literary Award,” the academy stated in a press launch.
The academy was criticized by high-profile members of the Malayalam movie business for nailing Vairamuthu because the recipient of the fifth ONV Kurup Literary Award. Vairamuthu has been accused of violent conduct by many ladies through the top of the #MeToo motion in India just a few years in the past.
