A neighborhood CPI(M) chief was stabbed to demise allegedly by bike-borne members of a gang on Marutha Road close to right here on Sunday night time, police stated.
He stated that Shajahan, a resident of Kunnangadu, was a member of the native committee of the CPI(M).
“We are recording the statements of eyewitnesses. He was immediately rushed to the hospital but could not be saved,” a senior police officer informed PTI.
Police stated the incident came about close to the chief’s home at round 9.30 pm.
Police stated that the culprits will probably be arrested quickly and the matter is being investigated. The police have began probing the CCTV footage of the adjoining space.
Local Left leaders stated they had been arranging decorations for the Independence Day celebrations on Monday.
Local CPI(M) leaders alleged that “BJP and RSS were behind the murder”. However, the BJP district management in an announcement denied the allegation.
