Lakshya Sen’s stellar run on the Indonesia Masters Super 500 badminton event ended with a quarterfinal loss to reigning Asian Games champion Jonathan Christie, right here on Friday.

World No. 12 Sen went down 21-15 10-21 13-21 to 3rd seed Christie in a males’s singles match that lasted 62 minutes.

Entering the match with a 1-0 head-to-head file, Commonwealth Games champion Sen confirmed his prowess and took an 8-5 lead and held it until the break. Christie overcame a three-point deficit after the restart to make it 15–15 earlier than the Indians scored six straight factors to win the opening sport.
