A youth in a ship from Sri Lanka to India jumped into the ocean off the Tamil Nadu coast and swam until he reached the coast right here, police mentioned on Monday.
A Marine police officer mentioned the 24-year-old joined a 5-member household and started their secret journey in a ship from Sri Lanka’s Thalaimannar to India on the night time of October 8.
He mentioned that when the boat was near the Tamil Nadu coast, the person recognized as Kaskan Ravichandran jumped into the ocean from the sand dune/island. From that point on, he swam till he reached the coast close to Mandapam after crossing the Arichalamunai-Dhanushkodi areas in coastal Tamil Nadu. Kaskan knowledgeable the authorities at Mandapam on Sunday and he’s being questioned. Roughly talking, she reportedly lined 6-8 knots.
During preliminary inquiry, it was discovered that he had a Sri Lankan passport which expired in 2020. Her mother and father are reportedly dwelling in Puducherry. An investigation is on, the official mentioned.
