The identify of the brand new IPL Lucknow franchise was revealed on Monday as Lucknow Super Giants. Sanjeev Goenka introduced this.

The official IPL group from Lucknow, owned by the RPSG Group, determined to crowdsource its identify from their followers. The client engagement marketing campaign was launched on 3 January 2022 on social media. On Monday, Goenka shared the identify of the group and thanked all of the followers who participated.

Last 12 months, the franchise was purchased by RPSG Group-owned Sanjeev Goenka for Rs 7090 crore. The second new group to enter the competitors is from Ahmedabad referred to as Irelia Company Pte Ltd. (CVC Capital Partners) for Rs 5635 crore.

On January 21, the RPSG Group-owned Lucknow franchise signed KL Rahul for Rs 17 crore, Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis for Rs 9.2 crore and uncapped leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi for Rs 4 crore.

CVC-owned Ahmedabad has picked Hardik and Afghanistan star spinner Rashid Khan for Rs 15 crore every, whereas spending Rs 7 crore for batsman Shubman Gill, their director of cricket Vikram Solanki introduced on Star Sports.
