Madhuri Dixit then opened up about selecting roles that inform tales about girls. “It’s about women empowerment and I love doing roles like these. Raja, Mrutyadand, Anjaam Dekh Toh has always been like this. I am keen to do roles with an essence,” she added.

Madhuri added that introduction of OTT Has impressed feminine actors to do good work of their forties. “I have played a mother in the past as well. But then I guess they didn’t know what to do with women in this age group. OTT and the kind of stories being told, there is no commercial barrier to make the film a hit. Of course, commercial movies are changing too. Watch movies like Badhaai Ho, where there is a female protagonist. She was not like a 16-year-old girl running around trees. Stories are maturing, audiences are maturing, and storytelling is maturing. People are consuming better content. Many stories are being made about women. So there are a lot of good roles for female actors,” she mentioned.

Madhuri Dixit additionally spoke about how 90s heroines are taking part in extra developed roles than their male counterparts, 90s heroes.

She mentioned, “It always happens right. Women are more mature than men (smiles). You have to go to your higher intelligence and think about it.
