Mads Mickelson to exchange Johnny Depp in Fantastic Beasts 3: ‘Would love to speak to him about this’

Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen has stated he needs to have talks with Johnny Depp about taking part in Dark Lord Gellert Grindelwald in his third Fantastic Beasts movie.

Depp decides to depart Warner Bros. He misplaced his defamation case towards British tabloid The Sun. The publication referred to the Pirates of the Caribbean actor as a “wife-beater”.

Speaking to UK’s The Times, Mads Mickelson stated, “I mean, apparently they were going to film, and obviously he wasn’t involved anymore. But I didn’t have a dog in that fight. And I dont know what happen [in his private life], and I don’t know if it was fair, he was losing the job, but I just knew that the show was going on, and I would have liked to talk to him about it if I had a chance, but I would just tell him that. Don’t know the meaning.”

He stated that Warner Bros. was in a rush after Johnny Depp left the venture. “But they called me and they were obviously in a hurry, and I liked the script and so said yes. And I know it was controversial for a lot of people, but it happens sometimes,” he stated.

Mads Mikkelsen has beforehand acknowledged that he wouldn’t copy Johnny Depp, as it might be “creative suicide”. He advised Collider, “Nobody’s interested in me going out there and trying to copy anything, it would immediately be creative suicide, especially when it’s done beforehand and skillfully.”
