The state authorities has determined to offer monetary help of over Rs 170 crore to the individuals affected by Cyclone Tauta.

This is the second consecutive 12 months that the state has been hit by a cyclone. In June 2020, Cyclone Nisarga hit Alibaug and affected the coastal districts of Raigad, Ratnagiri and components of Pune. Large scale injury to houses and livelihoods was reported.

Although the storm shaped within the second week of May didn’t have an effect on Maharashtra, sturdy winds and heavy rainfall induced extreme injury at some locations alongside the coastal districts because the cyclone moved northwards alongside the west coast.

The funds for the rehabilitation, which will probably be disbursed by the district administration involved, have been authorised final month after an in depth evaluation of the lack of livelihood within the type of injury to homes, cattle and different home animals, injury to agricultural land or fisheries .

Accordingly, the utmost share of the State Government of Rs.1524.28 lakh has been allotted to Konkan divisions (Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, Palghar, Mumbai, Thane and Raigad). Division-wise fund allocation for different divisions are: Rs 1,097.67 lakh for Nashik, Rs 357.37 lakh for Amravati, Rs 324.25 lakh for Pune, Rs 44.26 lakh for Nagpur and Rs 0.9 lakh for Aurangabad.
