Delhi Police’s Special Cell has arrested 29-year-old Kanarjit Kanguzam, father of a Manipuri local weather change activist, on fees of forgery and dishonest. He was arrested from Maharani Bagh space and handed over to Manipur Police custody. Police mentioned a reward of Rs 1 lakh was earlier introduced for his arrest.
A senior officer of the Special Cell mentioned that that they had acquired a request from Manipur Police final week to hint an absconding accused in Delhi and shared his particulars with them. Sections 406 (legal treachery), 420 (fraud and dishonestly inducing supply of property), 468 (forgery for fraudulent objective) and 34 (acts performed by a number of individuals in pursuing frequent intention) towards Singh. A case was registered beneath.

“With the help of technical monitoring, we found that Kanarjeet was residing in Noida-Extension and also tracking his movement. After locating him, we informed the Manipur Police and apprehended him from the Maharani Bagh area on Sunday night when he was going to meet someone at the IGI Airport, ”mentioned an official.
An arrest has been made by the South-Western Range of the Special Cell after Manipur Police knowledgeable them that Kanarjeet had shaped an NGO on the idea of pretend registration quantity and cheated some folks by taking cash for his NGO. An analogous case was registered towards him in 2015.
“In a recent case, the complainant alleged that he paid the NGO in 2018 after he promised to attend an international conference called the Europe Exchange Youth Program. But the event was postponed in 2019 and the complainant later demanded a refund. However, he did not find anything and heard that some people were also duped in the same manner,” mentioned a senior police officer.
