Manufacturing of AK-203 rifles to begin in India by 12 months finish: Russian official

A senior Russian official has mentioned that the Indo-Russian three way partnership will begin manufacturing AK-203 assault rifles at a plant in Uttar Pradesh by the tip of this 12 months.
Indo-Russia Rifles Private Limited was established in 2019 at Korwa Ordnance Factory in Amethi district to supply Russian-origin Kalashnikov assault rifles.

“The Korva Ordnance Factory is ready to start manufacturing the Kalashnikov AK-203 assault rifles by the end of 2022,” mentioned Alexander Mikheev, director normal of Rosoboronexport.

Rosoboronexport is Russia’s state-run protection unit that oversees numerous main army initiatives, together with these abroad.

“Our plans include 100 percent localization of production of the famous Russian assault rifles in India,” Mikheev mentioned.

“In the future, the joint venture may increase production and modernize facilities for manufacturing advanced rifles based on the Kalashnikov assault rifle platform,” he mentioned.

Rosoboronexport said that the AK-203 rifles are fitted with integral Picatinny rails for handy and simple mounting sights and tactical equipment, enabling efficient use of the weapon in a wide range of circumstances.

The firm is collaborating in a five-day DefExpo in Gandhinagar that started on October 18.

“During the exhibition, Rosoboronexport will discuss with the Indian side the production and supply of AK-203 to the armed forces and other law enforcement agencies of the country,” the corporate mentioned in an announcement.

“In addition, the company will offer a wide range of additional modern equipment designed to customize and equip the assault rifle,” it mentioned.
