Former South African wicket-keeper batsman Mark Boucher has been appointed as the top coach of Mumbai Indians for the upcoming IPL season, the franchise introduced on Friday.
The 45-year-old replaces former Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene, who has been promoted by the franchise to the position of worldwide head of efficiency.
Boucher, who’s at the moment the top coach of South Africa’s males’s nationwide workforce, introduced earlier this week that he would step down from the position after the upcoming T20 World Cup.

“I look forward to the challenge and respect the need for results. This is a strong unit with great leadership and players. I look forward to adding value to this dynamic entity,” he mentioned.
Boucher has had an extended and illustrious profession and holds the report for many Test dismissals by a wicketkeeper.
After retirement, he took over because the coach of Titans, the top-tier cricket franchise in South Africa, main them to 5 home titles.
