When I won the silver medal in the 2019 National Games, Mary Kom didi came to meet me and said, “Hey, you are back in boxing. That’s great.” At 32, I know there’s a constant pressure to prove myself at this point in my career and there’s no better inspiration for me than Mary Didi. Whenever I feel down, I I watch his biopic or the recent Bollywood film Panga, which is almost similar to my comeback,” says Rani.

Rani will now take part within the AIBA Women’s World Championships to be held in Turkey in December. Indian Railways Boxing Team head coach Sagar Mal Dhyal, who has been watching Rani as a boxer since 2007, says her greatest power is her willpower and combating perspective. “We had a 57-day training camp in Guwahati and made sure that he does not miss his training even during his periods.
