Meghalaya MLA says militants took refuge in Tura Medical College building website;  the federal government denies

Meghalaya Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA Saleng A Sangma on Thursday alleged that militants have taken shelter in an under-construction constructing of Tura Medical College and Hospital in Meghalaya.

The MLA stated through the Question Hour within the state meeting that he has experiences that round 70 militants belonging to unknown organizations have taken shelter within the medical school and hospital premises, that are below building.

Referring to the report obtained, the MLA requested whether or not the federal government had obtained any such info, to which Meghalaya Home Minister James PK Sangma stated that the federal government has not obtained any such report. The minister, nevertheless, stated the house division can be requested to look into the allegations.

“We will give this message to the home department and it will look into the matter,” Minister Sangma stated.

The Rs 243 crore mega medical school venture is basically funded by the Union Health Ministry. The central authorities is bearing Rs 172 crore of the overall price.
