Micro containment zones in Pune diminished to twenty-eight as COVID-19 scenario improves

According to the weekly report on COVID-19 ready by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the variety of micro-containment zones within the metropolis has come down from 500 to twenty-eight throughout the peak in April.

Of the whole 15 ward workplace areas, seven—Bibwewadi, Bhavani Peth, Kondhwa-Yewalewadi, Warje-Karvenagar, Kothrud-Bavdhan, Dhole-Patil Road and Yerwada-Kalas-Dhanori—haven’t any micro-containment zones. Of the whole 28 micro-containment zones, 24 have 4 ward workplaces.

Sinhagad Road ward workplace and Dhankwadi-Sahakarnagar ward workplace have most 9 micro containment zones every.

“The weekly test positivity rate has been declining for the last five weeks. For 30 April to 6 May it was 19.77% and now it has come down to 6.11% from 28 May to 3 June,” stated a civic official.
