Vigilance Bureau officers on Thursday took measurements of the residence of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Ashish Kapoor in Sector 88, Mohali. The transfer was in reference to the continued investigation towards the AIG within the disproportionate property case.
The officers who got here to verify on Kapoor’s home refused to speak to the media. The case towards Kapoor pertains to the time when he was posted within the Vigilance Bureau. Earlier, Kapoor was posted as Deputy Superintendent of Police (Central) in Chandigarh and Superintendent of Jail in Amritsar.
Kapoor was embroiled in one other controversy in 2019 when a lady prisoner lodged in Amritsar jail alleged that she was raped by the officer.
