Monkey Day Out: Delhi Metro to seek the advice of Forest Department

Delhi Metro will seek the advice of the Forest Department to arrange a plan to cope with circumstances just like the latest incident monkey getting into practice compartment, the company stated in an announcement.

“DMRC, in consultation with the Forest Department, plans to formulate a standard operating procedure for the safety of the passengers to deal with such unforeseen situations arising out of their entry into the metro premises,” the assertion stated.

Last Saturday, a video clip went viral, displaying a monkey touring inside a metro practice on the Blue Line, which has two branches connecting Noida and Vaishali with Dwarka.

“At Akshardham metro station, the monkey entered the practice and remained within the system for 3-4 minutes. After getting details about the matter, DMRC workers acted swiftly and the practice was evacuated on the subsequent station.

Although it was a uncommon incidence, some stations of the Delhi Metro equivalent to Yamuna Bank have seen commuters carrying monkeys and even snakes.

Metro officers have experimented with together with individuals who may scare the monkeys by imitating the sound of the langur. The New Delhi Municipal Council has already tried the strategy of conserving monkeys away from the VVIP zone.

DMRC Chief Spokesperson Anuj Dayal stated, “DMRC once again appeals to the general public to inform the train operator/metro authorities for immediate remedial action in case of any such incident.”
