More than 1200 villages of Uttar Pradesh within the grip of flood, rescue work underway

More than 5 lakh folks have been affected by floods in 1,243 villages of Uttar Pradesh and reduction and rescue groups have been deployed to assist the folks, officers stated right here on Wednesday.

In the final 24 hours, the state recorded a median of 13.1 mm of rain, which is 154 per cent greater than the traditional.

“Eleven districts including Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Basti, Gonda, Sultanpur, Shravasti, Lucknow, Rae Bareli and Fatehpur have received 25 mm or more of rain in the last 24 hours,” he stated.

A report by the Relief Commissioner’s workplace stated that “a population of 5,46,049 in 1,243 villages in 23 districts are affected by the floods.”

According to the reviews of the Irrigation division, River Ganga is flowing above the hazard mark in Budaun, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Ghazipur and Ballia whereas Yamuna river is above the crimson mark in Auraiya, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Banda and Prayagraj.

Similarly, Betwa river at Hamipur and Sharda river at Palliya Kalan (Kheri) and Kwano river at Chandradeep Ghat (Gonda) are above the hazard mark.

Relief work has been began and 20,768 ration kits and 167213 lunch packets have been distributed among the many flood affected folks.

NDRF, SDRF and State PAC have been deployed to assist the folks and 59 rescue groups are already deployed in 43 districts.
