Trinamool chief Mukul Roy submitted his nomination for the submit of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman within the Assembly on Wednesday, a transfer the BJP had publicly stated was about to return.

Ruden Lepcha, MLA from Kalimpong and chief of the Binay Tamang faction of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM), proposed Roy’s title for the submit.

Speaker Biman Banerjee stated, “Decision (on the next PAC chairman) will be taken as per rules.”

The BJP on its half has proposed six names for the submit. They are Ashok Lahiri, Suvendu Adhikari, Bankim Ghosh, Ambika Roy, Vivekananda Bori, Nikhil Ranjan Dey and Tarun Maity. According to sources, a complete of 13 names have been despatched by Trinamool.

Roy submitted his title independently, formally, he’s nonetheless a BJP MLA. The PAC will likely be constituted with 20 members of the Legislative Assembly. The Chairman will determine whose title will likely be formally proposed for the submit of PAC President.
