Munawwar Rana’s son Tabrez Rana (28) has been booked for allegedly assaulting himself to implicate his uncles over a property dispute in Rae Bareli district.
Rae Bareli police stated on Friday that two of Tabrez’s pals and two shooters have been arrested and remanded to judicial custody for assaulting him. Tabrez is absconding.
Munawwar, 68, in an announcement on Thursday night time accused the police of “acting like goons” and barged into his home in Lucknow with out a warrant or discover. “They acted like goons here… They didn’t allow media or lawyers to enter (the house). The condition I am in, if I die then the policemen, everyone who comes here will be responsible,” he stated.
Rae Bareli SP Shlok Kumar stated that on June 28, Tabrez has filed a case on the Kotwali police station alleging that two bike-borne males attacked him. “Teams were deployed to investigate the claims. After checking the CCTV footage and interrogating the people around, it was found that Tabrez Rana had sold some ancestral land which was more than his share…his uncles opposed it. In the complaint lodged by Tabrez, he suspected that his uncles might have played a role in the so-called attack,” stated SP Kumar. The SP stated that Tabrez had thought that his uncle would resign for the sale after the FIR.
