Muzaffarnagar: Rakesh Tikait begins indefinite protest in opposition to BKU activists’ arrest

BKU chief Rakesh Tikait on Tuesday began an indefinite dharna alongside together with his supporters at a police station right here in opposition to the arrest of some activists of the farmer outfit.

Ten activists of the Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) have been arrested following a conflict on the district hospital right here on Monday night time, police mentioned.

Protesting on the Kotwali police station right here, Tikait demanded the rapid launch of the activists, alleging that they’ve been falsely implicated within the case.

Police mentioned the BKU males have been demanding a direct medical examination of people that had suffered accidents in a conflict earlier.

According to the medical officer of hospital, Dr Baburam, individuals belonging to 2 teams had come to the hospital.

While the medical examination of 1 group was being accomplished, the BKU activists began demanding the examination of the opposite group, resulting in a conflict, Dr Baburam mentioned.

Ten individuals have been arrested on this connection, police mentioned.

Tikait, who can be the BKU’s nationwide spokesperson, instructed reporters that the district authorities needed to suppress his outfit by falsely implicating the activists in a case.

He demanded the discharge of the activists, who he mentioned had accompanied individuals for a medical examination within the district hospital.

Security has been tightened within the Kotwali police station space. Police and PAC personnel have been deployed within the space.
