Naomi Osaka’s agent says the four-time Grand Slam champion will sit out of Wimbledon and compete within the Tokyo Olympics.
Stuart Duguid wrote in an electronic mail on Thursday that Osaka is “taking some personal time with friends and family. She will prepare for the Olympics and is looking forward to playing in front of her home fans.”
Osaka, 23, who was born in Japan, withdrew from the French Open after the primary spherical, saying she wanted psychological well being relaxation.
