The 24 helicopters can be procured from the US beneath the Foreign Military Sales Framework, and can be “modified with several Indian unique equipment and weapons”, the assertion stated.

“To harness these powerful helicopters, the first batch of Indian crew is currently undergoing training in the USA,” the Navy stated.
William Blair, Vice President and Chief Executive, Lockheed Martin India, stated in a press release that the helicopter is “the most advanced maritime multi-mission helicopter in operation – globally deployed, and its mission performance is second to none”.
