NDA MPs ask PM to implement OBC, EWS reservation in All India Medical Education Quota

A delegation of NDA MPs from the OBC class on Wednesday requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to implement reservation for OBC and EWS candidates within the All India quota of undergraduate and postgraduate medical programs.

Union Minister and senior BJP chief Bhupender Yadav, Apna Dal’s Anupriya Patel and JD(U)’s RCP Singh have been a part of the delegation.

In the letter submitted to Modi, the MPs mentioned that as per the provisions of NEET, each authorities and personal medical and dental faculties are required to “require 15 per cent of the total number of seats in diploma and undergraduate courses and 50 seats in the private colleges and colleges.” proportion in postgraduate programs towards All India Quota and will be availed by candidates throughout the nation.

“Notably, as per the constitutional scheme of things, the said quota of All India seats is further subject to SC, ST, OBC and EWS reservation criteria. However, OBC category candidates have been denied reservation under All India Quota,” the letter mentioned.
