Neeraj Chopra arrives in Portugal to compete on 10 June

Olympic star Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has arrived in Portugal on June 10 to attend an occasion in Lisbon that can mark his return to worldwide competitors after greater than a 12 months.

Chopra, who had not participated in any worldwide occasion since qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics in South Africa in January final 12 months, arrived in Lisbon on Sunday.

“Chopra will take part in an event in Lisbon on June 10. We are also trying for other events, including the Karlstad Grand Prix in Sweden on June 22,” a supply within the Athletics Federation of India informed PTI on Monday.

“In Lisbon, he will be able to take part in competition as well as training. This is the most important thing as many countries have prescribed strict quarantine for the arrival of Indians.”

JSW Sports CEO, Chopra’s sponsor, Parth Jindal mentioned that the reigning Asian and Commonwealth Games champions have reached Portugal.

Sports Minister appreciated the efforts of JSW Group.

“Such support from our corporate sector will help India emerge as a great sporting nation.”
