Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra has gifted his historic Tokyo Olympic gold medalist javelin to the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, the athlete stated on Twitter on Sunday. Chopra was accompanied by one other Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra.
“It was an honor to visit and donate my Tokyo2020 javelin to the Olympic Museum yesterday. I hope its presence can inspire the younger generation to work hard for their dreams. The occasion was even more special as I had @Abhinav_Bindra sir with me,” posted Neeraj.
The museum homes a wealthy assortment spanning 120 years, together with the rifle of Abhinav Bindra, who grew to become the primary Indian to win a person Olympic gold in Beijing 2008.

The museum is managed by the International Olympic Committee’s heritage crew with the goal of securing the Olympic heritage.
“I can see Abhinav Bindra’s rifle in the museum which gives me tremendous inspiration. I hope my javelin will have a similar impact on future athletes, especially athletes from India,” Chopra was quoted as saying by PTI.
An emotional Bindra stated, “I am glad that his spear will now be attached to my rifle in the Olympic Museum, which has so far been a bit lonely in the case of an Indian company.”
