NIA raids in 3 states to analyze nexus between terrorists, gangsters, drug smugglers

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday carried out raids in reference to a case registered to probe “emerging nexus” between terrorists, gangsters and drug smugglers in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

Officials stated raids have been carried out at 50 locations, together with the homes of well-known gangsters.

The NIA had registered the case on August 26, after it had recognized “some of the most desperate gang leaders and their associates based in India and abroad” who have been finishing up terror and legal actions.

The company carried out raids in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi on September 12 after taking up the matter from Delhi Police. Gangsters concerned within the homicide of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala are additionally concerned within the raid.

During the raid, six pistols, a revolver and a firearm together with medicine, money, incriminating paperwork, digital gear, benami property particulars and threatening letters have been seized.

Officials stated that many gang leaders and members who fled India are working from overseas together with Pakistan, Canada, Malaysia and Australia.
