Nicole Kidman on working with Aaron Sorkin on Being the Ricardos: ‘He believed in me even once I did not imagine in myself’

Nicole Kidman is having enjoyable. The Oscar-winning Australian actress acquired her first actual foray into bodily comedy taking part in beloved American comic Lucille Ball in Being the Ricardos, and she or he’s loving it.

“At the Moulin Rouge, I had a little bit of physical comedy and things, but rarely did I have access to do these things,” Kidman stated.

“It was glorious to do. … It was so freeing and exciting, and people also love to laugh, what? It’s, like, fun!” he added.

Streaming Tuesday on Amazon Prime, Being Ricardo, Ball and her real-life husband and co-star Desi Arnaz goes behind the scenes of the Nineteen Fifties tv comedy sequence I Love Lucy, starring Javier Bardem.

Ball’s profession is threatened by claims that she was a communist, whereas the couple’s private life is clouded by rumors that Arnaz is dishonest and that Ball is newly pregnant.

The preliminary casting of Kidman was met with sarcasm on social media earlier this 12 months, with followers complaining that the Big Little Lies star did not appear to be the exuberant ball. The criticism shook Kidman as she ready to shoot the movie, however director and author Aaron Sorkin satisfied her to brush off the feedback.

“I said yes to the role. I then went, ‘Oh my god, maybe I’m not right,’ Kidman said. “(Sorkin) believed in me even once I did not imagine in myself.”

Reviews of the movie have been largely heat, with some most welcome reward from Ball and Arnaz’s daughter Lucy Arnaz.

“It’s amazing,” Lucy Arnaz stated in a YouTube video after watching the movie. “Nicole Kidman became my mother’s spirit. It crawled into her head.”

As for Bardem, Arnaz stated that the actor has “everything my dad has – his wit, his charm, his dimples, his musicality.”
