Nitin Gadkari to direct automobile makers to introduce flex-fuel engines

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday stated that his ministry goes to concern an order directing carmakers to introduce flex-fuel engines.

Flex-fuel, or versatile gas, is an alternate gas produced from a mix of gasoline and methanol or ethanol.

Addressing an occasion, Gadkari stated, India imports petroleum merchandise value Rs 8 lakh crore yearly, and if the nation continues to depend upon fossil fuels, its import invoice will enhance to Rs 25 lakh over the subsequent 5 years. Will be finished.

“To cut back the import of fossil fuels, I’m going to signal a file within the subsequent 2-3 days asking automobile producers to make automobiles with flex-fuel engines (that may run on a couple of gas). shall be requested for,” the Road Transport and Highways Minister stated.
