The Finance Ministry stated on Saturday that no order has been issued relating to enhance in dearness allowance of central authorities staff and dearness aid for pensioners.

In a tweet, the ministry stated a doc claiming to reintroduce DA to central authorities staff and dearness aid to central authorities pensioners from July 2021 is doing the rounds on social media.

“This OM (office memorandum) is #fake. No such OM has been issued by the Government of India,” it tweeted.

In April final 12 months, the Finance Ministry had stopped the hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for 50 lakh central authorities staff and 61 lakh pensioners until June 30, 2021, as a result of COVID-19 pandemic.

“In view of the disaster arising out of COVID-19, it has been determined that the extra installment of Dearness Allowance payable to Central Government staff and Dearness Relief (DR) to Central Government pensioners with impact from January 1, 2020, shall not be paid. “

The extra installment of DA and DR due from July 1, 2020 and January 1, 2021 may also not be paid,” the expenditure division had stated. However, DA and DR will proceed to be paid on the current charges, it had stated.
