Australia’s oldest dwelling Test cricketer Norma Johnson handed away on Monday morning. She was 95 years outdated.

Johnson performed seven Tests for Australia from 1948 to 1951 as a middle-order batsman and medium-pacer, scoring 151 runs at 25.16 and taking 22 wickets at 17.26.

Australian captain Pat Cummins remembered her as a ‘pioneer of the ladies’s sport’ as he took to Twitter and wrote, “I used to be deeply saddened to listen to of the passing of Norma Johnson this morning. Norma a pioneer of the ladies’s sport Was and till her demise was Australia’s oldest Test cricketer.

“She was captivated with cricket, her house city of Bathurst and the various girls who adopted in her footsteps to symbolize their state and nation.

His contribution to Australian cricket and the friendships he made throughout the sport will stay on perpetually,” Cummins wrote within the Twitter thread.

Cricket Australia chief govt Nick Hockley mentioned in an announcement: “Johnston has performed rather a lot to advance the reason for girls cricketers. Everyone in Australian cricket will probably be saddened to listen to of Norma’s passing.
