The Chhattisgarh authorities on Thursday alleged that the state was not being supplied with the allotted inventory of chemical fertilizers for the Rabi season by the Centre. According to the state authorities, the Center had authorised the allocation of 4.11 lakh tonnes of chemical fertilizers to the state for this Rabi season.

As per an official assertion, the state has obtained only one,71,476 tonnes of chemical fertilizers towards the demand of two,32,000 metric tonnes until January for the Rabi season.

While the state had obtained assurances from the Center relating to the provision of 1.20 lakh tonnes of chemical fertilizers in February, it has solely obtained 40,686 tonnes (34 per cent) this month, the assertion mentioned.

The 4.11 lakh tonnes of chemical fertilizers allotted to the state for the Rabi season contains 2 lakh tonnes of urea, 60,000 metric tonnes of DAP (di-ammonium phosphate ), 50,000 metric tonnes of NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium), 26,000 metric tonnes of MOP (muriate of potash) and 26,000 metric tonnes of SSP (single superphosphate), officers mentioned.

Chhattisgarh needed to face a scarcity of chemical fertilizers in the course of the Kharif season as effectively. The Congress authorities within the state has been accusing the central authorities of behaving with prejudice and sabotaging the fertilizer provide to the state.
