Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has launched two web portals – Integrated Odisha State Scholarship and Odisha Sumangal Portal on 28 October. The new Odisha Sumangal Portal will help the eligible students of the state to avail scholarships in a smooth and transparent manner. This portal will help people to get incentive amount for inter-caste marriage.
About 21 scholarships will be offered by 8 state departments. More than 11 lakh beneficiary students belonging to Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes and Educationally Backward Classes will be benefited from the Integrated Odisha State Scholarship Portal.
With the use of technology, we can provide the best services to the public at the right time with efficiency and transparency. This portal will bridge the gap between government departments and prospective students and they can apply from their homes within a specified time frame.
The vocational programs of the Department of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, Higher Education, School and Mass Education, Labor and ESI, Skill Development and Technical Education and Agriculture Department will be conducted on the portal. The scholarship will be deposited directly into the bank accounts of the students as the portal is preferred to the state treasury.
