Opposition MPs proceed to disrupt Lok Sabha proceedings over Pegasus

The Lok Sabha needed to be adjourned twice since Wednesday morning because the proceedings have been disrupted on account of opposition’s protest over the Pegasus challenge.

MPs from Congress, DMK, Trinamool Congress and Left events rushed to the middle of the House demanding a debate and probe into the alleged espionage, adjourned for quarter-hour at 11.15 am. Speaker Om Birla took sturdy objection to some MPs making an attempt to position placards in opposition to the chair in an try to telecast it stay.

When the House met at 11.30, the MPs returned to the Well carrying placards. Senior BJP chief Rajendra Agarwal, who was the president, warned him to not “cross the border”.

“It is not proper to show placards in front of the chair. Please put it down. you can not do this. This is not acceptable,” he stated. However, the MPs didn’t oblige the Speaker and the proceedings have been once more adjourned for quarter-hour.

The opposition has been stalling proceedings for the reason that House met for the monsoon session on July 19. However, amidst the uproar, the Lok Sabha has handed seven payments.
