Panchkula: 4370 faux packets of Tata tea recovered, supervisor of wholesale store arrested

The police on Tuesday arrested the supervisor of the wholesale store after recovering 4370 faux packets of ‘Tata Chai’ stuffed with adulterated tea from a wholesale provider in Sector 20. The police have taken this motion after getting details about the sale of adulterated tea in Tata tea packets.

A case has been registered towards 5 individuals together with proprietor Manish Kumar, his brother Vinod, three managers – Arjun, Kuldeep and Sajid (after being arrested) at Sector 20 police station underneath Section 420 of the IPC and sections of the Copyright Act. .

Police have recognized the arrested supervisor as Sajid, who operated a wholesale store of ‘Shri Mahabir Sales’ in Kundi. They estimate that this fraud is about 10-12 lakh rupees.

A police officer probing the matter mentioned, “The adulterated tea was being sold under the packaging of Tata Tea. We have recovered 4370 fake packets of 250 grams and 500 grams each from the supplier’s godown.” A group of police officers carried out shock raids and seized the adulterated tea.

The official mentioned that the police would additional examine from the place the suspects used to obtain the uncooked supplies.
“They used to supply adulterated tea to Panchkula and neighboring areas of Zirakpur and Derabassi,” police mentioned.
Recently the police had recovered various kinds of counterfeit items being offered underneath common model names like Dettol, Harpic, Savlon from the identical provider.
