A committee constituted by the Punjab Assembly to look into the atrocities dedicated in opposition to farmers by the Delhi Police throughout the protest in opposition to the continued anti-agriculture legal guidelines on Delhi’s borders, visited Nawanshahr district on Wednesday to satisfy the victims and file their statements. .

The five-member meeting committee constituted by the Punjab authorities consists of MLA Kuldeep Singh Vaid, who’s the chairman of the committee and MLAs from Gill meeting constituency Ludhiana, Harinder Pal Singh Chandumajra, Kulbir Singh Zeera, Fateh Jung Bajwa and Sarabjit Kaur Manuke. On Wednesday, Vaid and Chandumajra met Ranjit Singh and recorded his assertion.
Vaid mentioned the committee is visiting numerous districts of the state and recording the statements of the aggrieved farmers. “The committee will expose the atrocities committed on farmers in police custody at various police stations in Delhi and Tihar Jail. It will submit its report in four weeks and recommend adequate action,” he mentioned, including that until now the statements of 37 farmers have been recorded in Ludhiana, Moga, Bathinda and Mansa districts. The committee will go to Jalandhar, Amritsar, Sangrur and Gurdaspur within the coming days.
