Maskar additional defined that the 8-bed isolation facility helped households the place two or three individuals had examined optimistic. “If there is one Covid-19 patient in a family, they can manage. But if there are two or three patients it becomes difficult. At the same time, our isolation center came as a big boon. We also have three oxygen cylinders in case a patient needs oxygen support. Maskar mentioned that greens, fruits and groceries have been made out there within the society premises itself. “However, we ensured that the purchases are done in an orderly manner, while adhering to social distancing norms,” he added.

The society has 1,000 flats and over 4,000 residents. Most of the residents are from outdoors Pune. “At present, we have around 2,500 people staying, many of whom have returned to their native places,” he mentioned.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the society has registered 300 Covid-19 instances. “We have also seen three deaths so far. One was a 34-year-old resident while the other two were elderly citizens,” mentioned Maskar.

Two months in the past, the society had vaccinated 270 residents and was the primary to prepare a vaccination camp in Pimpri-Chinchwad. “We organized a vaccination camp for a day. However, after some uproar by some councillors, we needed to name it off.

The PCMC well being division has mentioned that housing societies shall be allowed to prepare vaccination camps solely after the permission of the state authorities. “We are planning to tie up with private hospitals to get our members vaccinated,” mentioned Maskar.
