PM meets President of Iran, evaluations progress of Chabahar port

In their first private assembly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi On Friday, he held discussions with Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi on bilateral ties, regional developments together with Afghanistan and reviewed progress within the growth of Chabahar port.

Both the leaders met on the event SCO Summit in Samarkand,

“The two leaders reviewed progress in the development of Shaheed Behesti Terminal, Chabahar Port and underlined the importance of bilateral cooperation in the field of regional connectivity,” the Ministry of External Affairs mentioned in an announcement.

This was the primary assembly between the Prime Minister and President Raisi since taking workplace in 2021.

“During the meeting, the two leaders discussed a number of important issues related to bilateral relations, and expressed their desire to further strengthen the ties. The Prime Minister highlighted that India-Iran bilateral relations have been marked by historical and civilizational ties, which include strong people-to-people contacts,” the MEA assertion mentioned.

It additionally mentioned that the 2 leaders mentioned worldwide and regional developments, together with in Afghanistan. “The Prime Minister reiterated India’s priorities for providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan and the need for a representative and inclusive political system in support of a peaceful, stable and secure Afghanistan,” it mentioned.

President Raisi briefed Prime Minister Modi concerning the standing of the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan talks.

Modi invited Raisi to go to India on the earliest at his comfort, the assertion mentioned.
