Premier League, EFL postpone subsequent spherical of fixtures in Queen’s mourning

The high flight Premier League and the English Football League (EFL) have postponed their subsequent spherical of fixtures as a mark of respect following the demise of Queen Elizabeth, they mentioned on Friday. Britain’s longest-reigning Queen died on Thursday on the age of 96 at her residence in Scotland.

“In honor of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, this weekend’s round of Premier League matches will be postponed,” it mentioned in an announcement.

“At a gathering this morning, Premier League golf equipment paid tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. “To honor his extraordinary life and contribution to the nation, and as a mark of respect, this weekend’s round of Premier League matches, including Monday evening’s game, will be postponed.” The EFL mentioned that from 9-10 September all its fixtures could be postponed.

“This ties in with the approach that the Premier League and the FA will take with their competitions this weekend,” the EFL mentioned.
