Pune: 8 killed in manufacturing unit fireplace, search continues for these trapped

At least eight folks had been killed when a fireplace broke out at a personal firm at Urawade close to Pirangut in Mulshi taluk of Pune district on Monday afternoon. Efforts are on to hint a number of others trapped contained in the constructing when the hearth broke out.

The fireplace incident befell at SVS Aqua Technologies, an organization that manufactures chlorine dioxide tablets for water purification.

“Around 15 to 16 workers were trapped inside the factory. Police team and fire brigade are on the spot. Eight bodies have been found so far,” stated Pune Rural Police Superintendent Abhinav Deshmukh.

On receiving details about the hearth, groups of Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) and Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) fireplace brigade rushed to the spot with fireplace brigade, water tankers and fireplace combating equipments.

“The firefighting work is underway. Some bodies have been found. Search and rescue operations are on for the remaining workers trapped inside,” a senior fireplace brigade officer of PMRDA stated.
