Pune: Auto-rickshaw driver, affiliate arrested for ‘assault, robbing passenger’

Pune metropolis police have arrested an auto-rickshaw driver and his confederate for allegedly robbing a passenger after pelting him with stones. Police have recognized the accused as Ganesh Haribhau Dharpale (33), resident of Ambegaon Pathar, who’s an auto rickshaw driver, and Gokul alias Bapu Khule (32) of Katraj, who is claimed to be his confederate.

On Sunday, whereas transporting passengers throughout the metropolis, Ganesh and Gokul Taljai stopped on a stone and allegedly attacked the passenger with a stone after which stole his laptop computer price Rs 60,100 and fled the spot. After the sufferer approached the police, an FIR was lodged on the Sahakarnagar police station.

Senior Police Inspector Swati Desai and Inspector Yunus Mulani began looking for the accused. Constable Kisan Chavan and Dhananjay Bhise obtained details about the situation of the accused individuals from their informers. Soon, a group led by Sub-Inspector Sunil Ghadge of Detection Branch laid a lure and nabbed Khule close to a bus cease in Taljai Patthar.

A press launch issued by the police mentioned it was detected inside 24 hours of the crime being registered. Police mentioned the accused individuals are history-sheeters and have dedicated severe crimes up to now.
