With vaccine hesitancy and unavailability of web hampering COVID vaccination, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has determined to launch its marketing campaign within the slums to get all eligible residents vaccinated on the earliest.

The civil administration has set a goal to vaccinate 4,66,313 slum dwellers above the age of 18 years in 390 slums throughout town.

Additional Municipal Commissioner Rubal Aggarwal mentioned, “The PMC will soon start door-to-door vaccination in all the slums of the city.”

Accordingly, the Jhuggi-Jhopri Department has been entrusted with the accountability of figuring out the eligible residents of the slums, amassing their names, Aadhaar numbers and telephone numbers.

Pune has a complete of 390 slums together with 269 notified slums. A complete of seven,40,180 persons are dwelling in 1,40,846 slums in 390 slums. A goal of 63 % protection of the entire inhabitants of 4,66,313 individuals has been set for the vaccination marketing campaign within the slums.

“Ward offices will have to identify civic cultural halls, community halls and schools present in the slums for setting up vaccination booths. The information is to be collected by July 5,” mentioned Agarwal, including that the zonal places of work and ward places of work must present three rooms, computer systems, printers, web connection and needed furnishings on the cubicles.
