Pune: District courtroom will work in a single shift from at this time, lawyer upset

Following the instructions of the Bombay High Court, the District Court on Tuesday issued an order to the impact that the courtroom would begin performing from 11 am to 2 pm.

The order of the district courtroom stated, “All courts situated within the limits of Pune Municipal Corporation and Khadki Cantonment Board shall function in accordance with the Bombay High Court circular dated 16/4/21 … from 11 am to 2 pm.” And the workplace features with one hundred pc attendance of judicial workplaces and 50 p.c employees members earlier than and after half an hour of judicial working hours.

Advocate Sushil Mancharkar, former president of Pimpri-Chinchwad Bar Association, stated, “The courts opened after the summer season holidays within the first week of June. He labored just one shift in PMC limits. Then from June 17, he began working in two shifts. And now per week later, they are going to be again in just one shift.”

He stated that the most recent order of the District Court is relevant solely in PMC limits. “As it is in Pune rural areas and Pimpri-Chinchwad, courts are already functioning in only one shift,” he stated.

Expressing his displeasure, advocate Satish Mullick, president of the Pune Bar Association, stated, “Due to the pandemic, cases are pending and piling up in the courts. Lawyers have been badly hit as their earnings have been badly hit. Therefore, running the court in one shift is not a proper move. We have urged the district court to reverse its decision.”

Advocate Mancharkar stated, ‘Working in a single shift signifies that solely bail order associated work will proceed within the courtroom.
