Pune metropolis police have arrested a member of Papa Inamdar gang for allegedly demanding Rs 91 lakh in return for land seize and eviction in Kondhwa space.
Police have recognized the accused as Musa Kamaruddin Inamdar (40), a resident of Inamdar Wada in Kondhwa.
In this case, a case has been registered at Kondhwa police station beneath sections 385, 447, 341, 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
According to a press launch issued by Pune City Police, Papa Nabi Inamdar and his gang members Musa Inamdar, Roopchandan Bhimaji Gajre, Rafiq Inamdar, Ayaz Sheikh grabbed 91 bunches of land by placing up boards on it.
He then allegedly demanded Rs 91 lakh from the proprietor of the land to surrender his possession and settle the matter. The complainant approached the police for assist.
Then the Crime Branch crew led by Senior Police Inspector Balaji Pandhare began investigating the matter. Police arrested Musa and search is on for different accused.
