Before finishing 20 years of Lagaan on June 15, Yadav sat down for an unique chat with indianexpress.com, and revealed the story. “I had stomach ache which was probably due to food poisoning due to the extreme heat in Bhuj. One Dr. Rao was on standby for our unit. He had bought his new instrument for laparoscopy, and I think he wanted to open it on some patient. He said that I have appendix problem and assured that he will take just 15 minutes to do the operation for me and resolve the issue,” shared Yadav.
He mentioned that the docs had been so excited to carry out the process that they took the actor to the operation theater forward of schedule. “He also installed a monitor for the Lagaan team to watch the process sitting outside the operation theatre. He originally wanted to showcase his new equipment and his medical knowledge. When I was unconscious, he made three holes in my stomach and kept explaining on the monitor how he was doing it. But he could not remove the appendix and after 15 minutes he said that either I should be taken to Mumbai or he would have to make another cut in my abdomen,” shared Yadav.
The excessive level of Raghubir Yadav’s operation story got here when he revealed that in the course of the process, he regained consciousness and actually witnessed the surgical procedure.
