On his return to ODI cricket, Prithvi Shaw was at his explosive finest towards Sri Lanka. Shaw was adjudged man of the match for 43 runs off 24 balls regardless of Shikhar Dhawan and Ishan Kishan scoring 85 and 59 respectively. Shaw scored India’s highest powerplay rating since 2013. However, the opener misplaced his wicket after struggling a severe blow to his helmet.
In a post-match presentation, Shaw mentioned he was ‘high-quality’ regardless of the ache, however admitted that having a nasty affect on the helmet affected his focus. “I was disappointed with the shot when I got out. I lost focus a bit after I hit my head,” mentioned the 21-year-old.
