Actor Rajkummar Rao says his upcoming movie Hum Do Hamare Do is a “different kind of comedy” as he performs a “serious” man who will get embroiled in unusual conditions.
Directed by Abhishek Jain, Rao starred as Dhruv, an orphan who “adopts” his mother and father, performed by actors Paresh Rawal and Ratna Pathak Shah, the love of his life (Kriti Sanon). ) to marry.
Though the 37-year-old actor has featured in comedies like Bareilly Ki Barfi, Stree or final 12 months’s Ludo, Rao stated his newest movie is a marked departure from these titles.
“It is a very different kind of comedy, a change from what I have done before. My character is of someone who is always in some situation or the other. It is not like Stree, Ludo or Bareilly Ki Barfi where the comedy is face-to-face, where the character itself is funny,” Rao instructed PTI in an interview.

“When you think of Ludo, you would think that my character was a funny guy. But that’s not the case here, he’s not a funny guy. He is a serious man, doing his job, but in the process he meets strange people, situations he faces (that is also funny)… that’s where comedy comes in,” he stated.
The actor stated that his character is “always on the backfoot”, which is why the movie lets comedy legend Rawal paved the way with humorous moments.
“Paresh sir’s character is the funniest because he is someone who doesn’t care about anything. He will say whatever he wants. So it was a lot of fun for me to hold the comedy a bit and let the situation be a funny moment,” he stated.
Hum Do Hamare Do The streaming service Disney+ is scheduled to launch on Hotstar on October 29.
Rao stated he joined the undertaking as a result of he was impressed by its “unique concept”. He added that past his never-before-seen concept of a person adopting mother and father, the movie has a wonderful love story.
