However, Sinha later claimed that the video which was going viral was “tampered” as “only a select section was made viral about the lathi-charge on social media platforms”.

“The lathi-charge that took place was at the Bastar toll plaza, where another SDM, not me, was posted. My location, where I was deputed, was 10-15 km away from the place where the actual lathi-charge took place. Nothing happened on my block. The police personnel who were informed by me did nothing. No protesters reached there and nothing happened at my block,” Sinha had advised The Indian Express.

Sources advised the Indian Express that the Chief Minister’s Office had additionally spoken to Sinha and located his reply “satisfactory”.
